How Wine Sisters Blog Got Started

Kerry and Regina met at a wine bloggers conference in Paso Robles and immediately bonded over a glass of old world zinfandel, and didn't quit talking the whole night. Somewhere in there Kerry lost her shoe, Regina left her cosmetic bag on the bus and at the end of the night they missed the bus entirely. They talked about race, they talked about wine, they talked about their various experiences in the wine industry on the west and east coasts, and developing their brands as female entrepreneurs.

And they talked about the industry stuff that's hard to address - like inclusivity (or lack of), the disproportionate number of people, including women and people from diverse races in the wine industry, and how many commonalities they shared despite living 4,000 miles away from each other on the west and east coasts of the United States.

By the end of the conference, they were calling each other my "wine sister."

Flash forward to 2020. Corona Virus and protests over Black lives being inhumanely ended dominated the United States dialogue.

So Regina from Georgia and Kerry from Oregon decided to do something positive in a world turned negative. They chose to focus on connection, community and commonalities instead of banalities; amplifying diverse voices in the industry who are making a difference in their communities.

Wine Sisters was created over a series of Zoom calls, in honor of wine sisters, and brothers - Wine Sisters - Cheers To Change.
